The Beginning of a New Chapter
In this, my first ever blog, I’d like to introduce myself and Inner Balance Digital to what will hopefully be a brand-new audience — one that I am very excited to connect with.
For the past two years, I had come to notice a shift stirring within, one that became impossible to ignore. Having run my own busy therapy practice, as well as being a sessional Counsellor for organisations including the NHS and several trauma-focused charities, I started to visualise a new way of working that led me to this point.
It wasn’t that I was no longer enjoying my work — far from it. It was more that I felt there was a whole new, untapped potential within me, something still waiting for expression.
When My Work Began to Evolve
Perhaps I was looking for a way to encapsulate all the experience and wisdom I’d gained from helping hundreds of clients find deeper understanding, greater insight, and personal transformation.
With that in mind, I began to reflect on the way that I worked. My desire to help other people access deeper parts of themselves — which therapy facilitates so beautifully — was still very much alive. But alongside that was a growing sense of being slightly burnt out by the intensive, demanding nature of the therapy room.
So, steadily, I began to reduce my caseload and shifted my focus towards bringing the vision of Inner Balance Digital to life.
Rediscovering My Creative Voice
I started to imagine new ways I could continue sharing my passion for helping others discover their potential for inner growth and transformation. I have always been drawn to creativity, and designing these workbooks has felt like a reconnection to my artistic younger self. They allow me to weave together therapeutic insight with the intuitive, creative side of me — bringing both structure and soul into a form that can genuinely support someone’s inner journey.
A large part of my own inner healing and growth has come through understanding and working with these therapeutic concepts I learned throughout my training and beyond. And while the healing power of the therapeutic relationship can’t be underestimated, for me, it has always been the psychoeducational aspect that has been the most transformative.
Being able to share these life-changing pieces of information — the ones that can shift a person’s perception of themselves or their history forever — is nothing short of remarkable to me.
Witnessing, time and time again, a client’s “aha” moment when they view their situation through another lens is such a privilege, and it’s what has kept me in this fascinating and fulfilling career for so long.
Where Psychology Meets Soul
I also knew that my vision needed to include content outside of traditional psychology. The transpersonal psychotherapists who shaped my training — such as Carl Jung and Roberto Assagioli — helped validate my own beliefs, especially the understanding that there is always something more than the personality. Acknowledging the soul’s journey has always felt intuitive and natural to me and for many of my clients and blending both traditions offers a truly holistic way of becoming more of who we are. It felt like a seamless transition — not a departure from therapy, but an expansion of it.
Over the years, I’ve noticed that the most meaningful transformations often happen when therapeutic insight meets something deeper — something intuitive, soulful, and resonant. That meeting point between psychology and soul is where people often experience their greatest clarity and inner shift.
Supporting Your Inner Growth in a New Way
In creating these workbooks, my intention has always been to offer support in a way that feels accessible, grounded, and deeply personal. I believe that real transformation happens when we begin to understand ourselves more clearly — and that’s something we can learn to nurture from within. Therapy can be life-changing, but not everyone has access to it, and not everyone needs weekly sessions to begin their inner work. My hope is that these tools give you a gentle structure to explore your inner landscape with curiosity and compassion.
My intention is simply to offer something that helps you understand yourself more deeply. We all carry patterns, stories, wounds, and moments in our history that shape how we feel and respond today. Sometimes all we need is a little guidance, a clear structure, or the right question at the right time to begin seeing ourselves differently. These resources are created to support that process — to help you reconnect with your inner world in a way that feels grounded, compassionate, and truly your own.
A Gentle Invitation Forward
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for being here at the very beginning of this new chapter. If you feel drawn to explore the resources I’ve created, you’re warmly invited to browse, reflect, and take whatever supports you. And if all you do today is read these words and pause for a moment of inwardness — that, too, is meaningful.
Wherever you are on your journey, I’m glad you’re here. 🌿
